Journey into the heart of British Columbia’s coastal wilderness on this exclusive Desolation Sound Discovery Cruise. Renowned for its breathtaking scenery and rich marine life, Desolation Sound offers a rare blend of warm, sheltered waters and rugged coastal beauty. Spend your days exploring remote waterways, glacially-carved fjords, and serene anchorages, with nights spent in charming coastal accommodations.
A great variety of animals and marine mammals populate these waters, including orcas, humpbacks, dolphins, sea lions, seals, and a wild variety of marine fowl. The waters can reach 25°C in the summer. The warm and deep waters make Desolation Sound a haven for prawn trappers, oyster harvesters, and salmon fishing in the summer and fall. The calm waters also make this area perfect for kayakers and calm-water cruisers.
