For the 2023 cruising season, Pacific Coastal Cruises will be introducing the Pacific Bear II. The current website still features the original Pacific Bear which we have retired. The new Pacific Bear is presently under renovations. Once the re-build is complete we will feature her on the site. We are excited by prospect of the 2023 re-launch of our BC Coastal lodge to lodge cruise itineraries.
Experience lodge to lodge cruising – experience intimate, engaging encounters. Up close and personal adventures on board the comfort of the Pacific Bear, and the welcoming nature of the coastal community at our selected-on shore accommodation. Our cruises are not the normal or average adventure. These journeys appeal to those adventure seekers who possess on going curiosity. These are not just small ships with compromised on board accommodations, rather a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere on a boutique ship and expansive, first class on shore accommodation.

Just lovely, so relaxing and within some of the most beautiful spots on the west coast. The crew were such professionals, attending to everyone’s needs even when you didn’t realize you needed anything!
Trip of a lifetime. It was on our bucket list and did not disappoint! The crew were attentive, knowledgeable, professional and were very much a part of making this one of our most memorable trips ever.
Throughout the entire trip, beginning to end, the Captain and his crew offered a five star experience of a lifetime. We were impressed by their knowledge, enthusiasm and experience as they guided us on a stellar cruise through one of the jewels on BC's rugged coastline.
We enjoyed the dedicated enthusiastic staff that pampered us older folks in every way. Combine this with lovingly prepared gourmet food, a well run ship, cozy remote lodges and the great BC outdoors backdrop at its Best- and you have a very memorable vacation.
The geography on this route is a mesmerizing mix of narrow inlets to deep fjords and small rounded islands to towering glaciers. Despite what George Vancouver thought, the scenery around these islands is arguably some of the most impressive on the British Columbia coast. There is a remarkable First Nations history in the area including sites in Lund, Cortes, Quadra, Toba Inlet and even Homfray Channel with several remaining relics and pictographs.
Experience the magnificence of the Grizzly Bears of Toba Inlet. Home to remarkable biodiversity and breathtaking scenery, Toba Inlet is one of BC’s best kept secrets. During the late summer and fall, beautiful coastal grizzly bears can be found feeding on salmon and vegetation along the Klite River in preparation for hibernation. This fall spectacle is only shared by an intimate group of spectators as the local First Nations ensure there is minimal impact on the bears and their environment.
Cruise the Gulf and San Juan Islands of the Salish Sea in comfort on board the Pacific Bear. The geology of these islands creates a fabulous cruising area. The Gulf Islands are made of sandstone that has been folded and uplifted until it sticks out of the ocean, while the San Juan Islands are the peaks of sunken mountains. Although sitting on both sides the border, the Gulf and San Juan Islands are so interconnected that it feels like one big community.
