Just returned from a wonderful and memorable 5 day Salish Sea Cruise with Pacific Coastal Cruises - can't say enough good things about this experience. The boat is charming and very comfortable, the crew friendly, welcoming and very professional, the food is beyond amazing - healthy and so delicious - our every want and need was catered to. We learned a lot about the history of the islands from Holliday, our on board naturalist, saw seals, sea birds and Orcas in their natural environment. We enjoyed a horse drawn carriage tour of the beautiful murals in Chemainus, dropped into Ganges to have a look around, stayed four overnights at two wonderful resorts - Cowichan Bay Inn and Suites and Poet's Cove Resort and Spa on South Pender Island. There is always something interesting to see on the water and Captain Lance toured us close to shore to look at amazing cottages and homes. Ferry traffic on the Salish Sea is frequent - so interesting seeing all the different vessels out there. To sum up, I would highly recommend this trip - it is a wonderful experience.

We cruised with Pacific Coastal on board the "Pacific Bear" around the Salish Sea between 4-8 June 2018. We had been to Canada on two previous occasions and we wanted a different experience this time. We absolutely loved the experience of having a very personal cruise with a very knowledgeable crew. We cruised around the Canadian Gulf Islands spending time in Chemainus, Ganges on Salt Spring Island and South Pender Island. Also cruising the American Gulf Islands and seeing some beautiful Orcas as well as many seals, propoises and birds along the way. Our cruise took us along the shorelines of many islands to view the beautiful homes.
The crew:
Captain Lance - a true professional and our safety and comfort was always the top priority.
Holliday - our on-board naturalist, was always a wealth of information about the history of the area and kept us entertained with lots of folklore stories.
Greg - man of many talents. Quiet but always at hand when needed.
Armand - our chef on board. Nothing was too much trouble for him even with our specific dietary requirements. All meals on board were prepared with fresh ingredients With an ever changing menu. Tea, coffee, wine, beer, juice and water was always on hand. We would recommend this cruise to anyone interested.

Just lovely, so relaxing and within some of the most beautiful spots on the west coast. The crew were such professionals, attending to everyone’s needs even when you didn’t realise you needed anything! Charming team. Wonderful value for money in my opinion and perfect for those wanting to have a taste of the west coast in relaxation and style. We were fortunate enough to see humpbacks, seals, eagles and more!

Trip of a lifetime. It was on our bucket list and did not disappoint! The crew were attentive, knowledgeable, professional and were very much a part of making this one of our most memorable trips ever. The lodge , though a bit rustic was charming and in a breathtaking location. Within 2 days we saw a humpback whale, a pod of orcas ( numerous times) and grizzlies feeing on salmon in the river. Simply an incredible trip!

If you've ever longed to see Desolation Sound, Pacific Coastal Cruises and Tours are the way to go - top notch professionalism with a personal touch. Throughout the entire trip, beginning to end, the Captain and his crew offered a five star experience of a lifetime. We were impressed by their knowledge, enthusiasm and experience as they guided us on a stellar cruise through one of the jewels on BC's rugged coastline. Highly recommended!

Superb all round. From Captain Lance through all the crew both afloat and ashore, truly outstanding. The food and its presentation set a high standard for Desolation Sound cruising.

Tom and I still have good memories of our trip last fall. The boat, staff, food and hotels were spot on for the trip and locations. Best of all the weather and fellow travellers made for a fun and special time.

We thoroughly enjoyed the cruise we took with Pacific Coastal. The crew were informative and totally pampered us. Barry did an amazing job of preparing wonderful meals for us. The accommodation was great and the scenery spectacular. The BC coast is truly a fabulous place to cruise and we saw an amazing array of wildlife - seals, humpback whales, and even two grizzly bears. Sometimes the best adventures are right in our own back yard. We highly recommend a trip with these folks. Diane and Rob

We enjoyed the dedicated enthusiastic staff that pampered us older folks in every way. Combine this with lovingly prepared gourmet food, a well run ship, cosy remote lodges and the great BC outdoors backdrop at its Best- and you have a very memorable vacation. A bit pricy but worth it, how else could you visit these beautiful BC fjords where normal cruise ships can’t go.

One of the best cruises I have been on. Beautiful scenery and wildlife. Loved the "little blue boat". Staff friendly and very accommodating. Food was the best I've ever eaten. Accommodation was good. Overall a wonderful experience. Highly recommend!

We already have recommended this trip several times, the only negative comment we have is that the trip had to end, we could have kept going. Service, crew, Homfray Lodge, food, scenery, wildlife all outstanding!
