Join award-winning author and CBC broadcaster Grant Lawrence for a one-of-a-kind tour of Desolation Sound. Lawrence will lead our cruise to many of the spectacular, hidden locations he wrote about in his best-selling 2010 memoir "Adventures in Solitude". Along the way, Grant will share hilarious, intriguing and frightening stories of the local legends that have managed to cling to the shores of the Sound like barnacles over the decades. Stories will cover local First Nations lore, the pioneer era, the Age of Aquarius, and modern day. Lawrence's family has owned land in Desolation Sound for over 40 years - few know it better!
Grant will join our cruise from Lund and our "Adventures in Solitude" Desolation Sound tour will take place on day 2 as we travel from Lund to Homfray Lodge. From Homfray Lodge we will cruise Desolation Sound, to Quadra Island with our captain and on board naturalist. Cruise departs from Lund or Powell River on July 23rd. Ask about flights from Vancouver....they are only 35 minutes!
