Life On Board

Naturalist onboard the Pacific Bear

Our naturalist cruise director is your guide, ensuring your experience is both enjoyable and enriching. Daily talks examine both local wildlife and the region’s rich Indigenous history. As we follow the route first navigated by Captain George Vancouver, our Captain demonstrates navigating techniques, charting, and Seamanship Safety. On board our Little Blue Boat, guests are encouraged to listen, learn, and participate. Crewed by a seasoned West Coast Captain, engineer and your naturalist guide, the “Little Blue."

The Pacific Bear, our “Little Blue Boat”

Christened the Lasqueti Star, in honour of the shipyards of British Columbia where she was built, the "Little Blue Boat" was originally a fishing vessel working the province’s rugged coast. Totally rebuilt and refurbished, this former "Seiner" is now a comfortable, extremely sea-worthy passenger cruiser, plying the calm, coastal waterways she knows so well. In her present life, the “Pacific Bear,” fondly nicknamed our "Little Blue Boat" gives her guests access to British Columbia’s breath-taking secret coast. A fully equipped galley, single-seat dining, hospitality bar and ample open and enclosed deck viewing, ensure guests enjoy every comfort while benefiting from unprecedented proximity to BC’s hidden gems. The Pacific Bear is an exclusive, small ship coastal cruise for only 16 guests. For more on the Pacific Bear.
