Historic Lund Hotel

To ensure your flights/travel are arranged for your cruise at the correct time, please follow our guidelines below. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.   

On day of embarkation guests should meet with our representative at the Powell River Airport at 11:30 am for a scheduled once per day complimentary land transfer. For guest driving to Lund, meet our staff at the Historic Lund Hotel lobby area at 1:30 pm.

Disembarkation time in Lund, BC is about 12:00 noon. Our land transfer will return to the Powell River Airport at about 1:00 pm.

Pacific Coastal Airlines offers daily non-stop (35 min) flights from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) to Powell River Airport (YPW) with Pacific Coastal Airlines

Driving from Vancouver or Vancouver Island  

If driving from Vancouver you will take BC Ferries from Horseshoe Bay to Langdale (40 minutes) on the Sunshine Coast.  Then proceed north for 1 1/2 hours on Highway 101 to Earls Cove where you'll the second BC Ferry between Earls Cove and Saltery Bay (50 minutes) which is located on the north end of the Sunshine Coast. From there continue to travel north on Highway 101 through Powell River (30 minutes) and on to Lund.

From Vancouver Island you can also take BC Ferries between Comox (Vancouver Island) to Powell River (1 hour 50 minutes), then drive from Powell River to Lund.

There is parking available in Lund at the Historic Lund Hotel (Rates currently at $7 per day - subject to change). Our cruise departs Lund Harbour marina which is directly across from the parking area.


Sea Plane Charters

For a convenient private charter, you may fly from Vancouver, Seattle, Tofino, Campbell River, Whistler or any other nearby destination direct to Powell River. From Vancouver this flight time is about 45-minutes. Contact us for details on private sea plane charters.


Direction to Cowichan Bay

On day of embarkation guests should meet with our representative at the Oceanfront Suites lobby area, in Cowichan Bay at 11:00 am. Disembarkation time in Cowichan Bay, BC is about 12:00 noon.

Flights from Vancouver to Cowichan Bay

Pacific Coastal Airlines offers daily non-stop (25 min) flights from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) to Victoria International Airport (YYJ) with Pacific Coastal Airlines

If you want to book a flight, we suggest flying and staying in Cowichan Bay the night prior to your cruise, as we don’t want to see you miss your trip. Please contact us for travel details and if you would like us to arrange a transfer between Victoria International Airport and Cowichan Bay with our supplier partner.

Driving from Vancouver, Nanaimo, and Victoria to Cowichan Bay

If driving from Vancouver, you will either take BC Ferries from Horseshoe Bay to Nanaimo-Departure Bay (1 hour 40 minutes) or from Tsawwassen to Victoria- Swartz Bay (1 hour 35 minutes)

Driving from Vancouver to Oceanfront Suites at Cowichan Bay, through Horseshoe Bay, will take around 4 hours and requires traveling by ferry with BC Ferries. Take Highway 1 West and follow the signs towards Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal. Take the ferry service from Horseshoe Bay to Departure Bay, Nanaimo. The ferry takes 1 hour 30 minutes, so you can sit back and relax. When you exit the ferry, follow the signs to join Highway 1 South towards Victoria. You will pass several communities including Ladysmith, Chemainus, and Duncan. Keep traveling south and turn right when you get to the intersection at the Cowichan Lawn and Tennis Court. Continue traveling down this road for approximately 4 km, through the village of Cowichan Bay. You will see Oceanfront Suites on the left-hand side.

Driving from Vancouver to Oceanfront Suites at Cowichan Bay, via Tsawwassen, will take you around 4 hours. From downtown Vancouver, drive south on Howe Street and over the Granville Bridge (Highway 99). Turn left at the corner of Granville and West 49th Avenue. Continue to the corner of West 49th and Oak Street, then turn right and cross the Oak Street Bridge. Drive south and follow the signs for “Highway 17-Victoria Ferries Next Right” to the Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal. Once you exit the ferry, travel South in Highway 17 (also known as Patricia Bay Highway) for about 17 km. Take McKenzie Avenue exit and head West towards Highway 1. Travel north on Highway 1 towards Nanaimo. You will pass small the towns of Malahat and Mill Bay and continue north. Turn right on Cowichan Bay road, the 5th set of lights after Mill Bay. You will see Oceanfront Suites at Cowichan Bay on the right-hand side.

Driving from Nanaimo to Oceanfront Suites at Cowichan Bay will take you approximately 45 minutes. Take Highway 1 South towards Victoria. You will pass several communities including Ladysmith, Chemainus, and Duncan. Keep traveling south and turn right when you get to the intersection at the Cowichan Lawn and Tennis Court. Take McKenzie Avenue exit and head West towards Highway 1. Travel north on Highway 1 towards Nanaimo. You will pass small the towns of Malahat and Mill Bay and continue north. Turn right on Cowichan Bay road, the 5th set of lights after Mill Bay. You will see Oceanfront Suites at Cowichan Bay on the right-hand side.

From Vancouver, you can also take BC Ferries between Tsawwassen to Nanaimo-Duke Point  (2 hours), then drive from Nanaimo to Cowichan Bay.

Parking is available at the Oceanfront Suites at Cowichan Bay.
